In recent years, McIntyre has re-entered artistic explorations with sound. The Resonant Lung, his latest aural project, is a sculpted sound chamber built into a shipping container with remnants of antique pipe organs controlled by modern digital interface. The Resonant Lung sits in the outdoor sculpture garden of Dimension Gallery. The project, now a Texas state nonprofit, features ongoing concert programming inside the chamber. These intimate performances present a range of musicians and composers the opportunity to work with the instrument as collaborators.
